Bio

I started writing songs when I was a teenager--but in those days I used to rely upon my own power of inspiration--so my songs sounded very trite--I'm sure.  Years later, I began writing once again in 1994.  This time I turned the process of writing over to God;  to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  I'd like to think the songs are better, because God is a powerful co-author.  And he has placed so many inspirations in my path since that moment.  Since then, songs have flowed from this wellspring of inspiration--which is fed by reading the Gospels, and other books and articles by spiritually minded people. Other inspirations include conversations with friends, sermons I've heard, and observations of nature.  I'm just so happy that I am given the opportunity to share the songs that God has so graciously given to me.  And that is my goal:   to continue writing, singing, recording to the honor and Glory of God.

Song Stories

Eyes--I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who happens to be a pastor.  It was during a Lent a few years ago.  I was telling her that I had run out of ideas for this Lenten season.  She suggested that I see the Passion of Christ through the eyes of the wife of a Roman soldier.  The result was this song...

Simple Gifts
was based on the old Shaker Hymn written in 1848.  the prescription for living a good life is really very simple.  Find ways to concentrate on God! And make Him the center of your life.

May Your Life--this is a celebration of the will of God in our lives.  I do a lot of spiritual reading, which often inspires me to write.  This particular song was inspired by the writings of Vincent Pallotti, a 19th century Italian priest who was very fond of praying to God:  'please let your life be my life, O God!".
